What It Does
The probe housing carries the locating probe inside the drill string, just behind the pilot bit. Its job is twofold: protect the electronics from impact, mud and abrasion, and keep the wireless signal strong enough for the operator to read depth, pitch and heading without interruption. Signal dropouts are usually a housing problem, not a probe problem.
Mounting Options
Two mounting styles are available — rear-load and side-entry — so the probe can be changed without breaking the whole string. Connection is offered in direct-connect or octagonal-connect form depending on the rig.
Matching to Your String
Housings are matched to the drill pipe size and thread series you are running. Tell us the pipe you use and we will supply the housing that fits it.
Where It Ships
Supplied to contractors in Africa, Southeast Asia and the Middle East.
